Senior Citizens Center
Overview
In the fall of 2003, the Arlington Senior Citizens Center opened to serve as a gathering place for Arlington's senior citizens. The building, which was newly constructed in the summer of 2003, is a replica of Arlington's original railroad depot station, which was known as "Withe Depot" in the late 1800's.
Senior residents gather at the center on a regular basis for coffee, meals, entertainment, and a variety of other activities. The center is located at 6265 Chester Street in the historic Depot Square area.
For information on joining the center, contact the Director, Betty Russell, at (901) 867-7698 or complete an
Application for Membership.
Mission
The Town of Arlington and the Arlington Senior Center are committed to the betterment of its seniors through the sharing of information and support. We encourage seniors to get involved in the many activities the center provides. We hope you will join us for Gentlemen's Coffee, Bingo, Quilting, Game Day, or simply fellowshipping with one another at the many events sponsored by the center.

Events
Spring has finally arrived. We are busy trying to "get in better shape" with a variety of different exercise classes throughout the week, including Tai Chi. We have a group of ladies that come every Tuesday to quilt, sew, or weave. A fun group and they always welcome newcomers. We offer a weekly Band session every Tuesday. If you play an instrument come on down and play with our Country Band. If you're not a strummer, a picker, or pianist. Please come on down, bring a lunch and enjoy some good old country music. Every Wednesday we offer Health 101 class, which includes speakers, healthy cooking demonstrations, massages and more! Thursdays the MAGI meet, watch a short film and have a potluck lunch followed by card and box games.
Whether you want to relax, be entertained, make new friends or learn new skills, there is always something here for you.
