Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month, at 6:30pm in the Board Chambers at Town Hall (5854 Airline Road).
Any exceptions to schedule due to holidays or other reasons will be posted on the Town website prior to the meeting.
Yes, members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend BMA meetings.
Yes, citizens are given an opportunity to address the BMA, without prior notification, during the "Citizens Comments" portion of the Board meetings.
Upon recognition by the Mayor, members of the public may address the Board and are given three (3) minutes to speak on any non-agenda item. You must begin your comments to the Board by stating your name and address for the record. As this is not a question and answer opportunity, the Board may or may not respond to any questions asked at this time or later during the meeting.
Some items brought before the BMA will also include Public Hearings. These items will include a 'public comment' period where interested parties may speak on the item being discussed. Again, you may speak upon recognition by the Mayor and shall begin by stating your name and address for the record.

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen includes 7 elected officials who serve 4-year staggered terms. The BMA is responsible for policymaking, passing Resolutions and Ordinances, adopting the budget and board compensation along with levying the tax rate, setting fees and rates.
