🚲 Know Your E-Bike - New TN law
We've received a number of questions about e-bike rules recently, so we wanted to share an upcoming change to Tennessee law.
Beginning July 1, 2026, riders must be at least 16 years old to operate a Class 3 e-bike. The current minimum age is 14. Helmet requirements also vary depending on the type of e-bike being ridden.
Not sure what class of e-bike your family has? Check the graphic below.
As always, all bike and e-bike riders should follow traffic laws, watch for pedestrians, and ride safely. A little knowledge goes a long way toward keeping everyone safe on our streets and trails.

💧REMINDER: You may notice temporary water discoloration and/or lower pressure while crews are in your area. This is normal and should clear if you run cold water for a few minutes. We also recommend waiting to wash laundry until water runs clear.

If the kids complain about garbage chores, show them this handy checklist. A few simple steps can help keep odors down, reduce messes, and make collection safer for everyone:
✅ Bag household garbage securely
✅ Give cans and bottles a quick rinse before recycling
✅ Keep liquids out of trash containers
✅ Clean your bins when needed
A little extra effort now can make a big difference during the hot summer months!

🚫 Storm drains are not connected to the wastewater treatment plant.
Water entering a storm drain in the street flows directly to local creeks & rivers, where pool chemicals can harm fish and wildlife.
✅ Pool water should be discharged through approved sanitary sewer connections so it can be treated before being returned to the environment.
Help protect Arlington's waterways by keeping pool water out of the street and storm drain. Every drain leads somewhere, and what goes into a storm drain goes directly to our waterways.

🎯 Friday | 10 AM–Noon | Mary Alice Park
Inflatable Games are rolling into the park with oversized fun, including inflatable basketball, axe throwing, and more!
🐐🍦 Saturday | 10 AM–Noon | The Crossing Market Pavilion
Goats and Floats arrives with adorable baby goats to pet and delicious ice cream to enjoy.
Both events are FREE, family-friendly, and a great way to make some summer memories. We hope to see you there!

👏 Congratulations to Elizabeth and Ashley!
Thanks to their work with a NRPA grant, Arlington's Senior Center launched the Walk with Ease program that has helped residents get active, build friendships, and gain confidence. Along the way, many participants even went on to compete in the Regional Senior Olympics, bringing home more than 70 medals!
The program was such a success that Ashley and Elizabeth were invited to share Arlington's story in the National Recreation and Park Association's monthly magazine. Their article will be published this summer in the Health and Wellness column.
We're proud of Ashley and Elizabeth for helping make Arlington a healthier, more connected community, and for getting us nationally recognized.

🎨 Arlington - seems it’s time for our semi-annual reminder: please DO NOT put wet paint in your trash bins.
We have a growing mess in the Ewing Place neighborhood this morning, and unfortunately vehicles are now tracking paint onto additional streets.
Wet paint in trash bins not only damages roads and creates difficult cleanup issues, it can also damage garbage trucks and create safety hazards for WastePro employees who may be exposed to paint and chemicals leaking inside collection equipment.
If you need to dispose of paint that is still wet, please use one of these options:
• Take it to Shelby County’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility
• Leave the paint can open until the paint dries completely, then place it in your trash bin
• Donate usable paint to a neighbor or local project
Dispose of paint responsibly Arlington and help keep our neighborhoods clean and safe.
