The Planning Department includes a Town Planner, Planning Technician, and Planning Clerk. The Department is responsible for both current and long-range planning, as well as Zoning Code enforcement efforts. The Department reviews all applications for new commercial, residential, office, and industrial development in Arlington, as well as applications to revise existing sites. Staff also reviews rezoning, signage, variance, and residential building permit requests.
Staff provides technical and administrative support to three (3) Town boards: the Planning Commission, the Design Review Committee, and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
