Library Calendar of Events

We have special programs and events each month at the Library. Our monthly calendars help keep you informed (links in blue buttons to download). Check our new calendar each month OR check out our Library Facebook Page.

Programs occur Monday-Thursday, and on Saturdays.
The Library is closed on Fridays & Sundays.

Summer Kick-Off!

Mr. Nick's Dino Crew

Saturday, May 23rd at 1:00

at the Arlington Safe Room (11842 Otto Lane)

Help us kick-off the summer with Mr. Nick's Dino Crew for the perfect mix of fun and learning, featuring realistic dinosaurs, engaging stories, and plenty of excitement for all ages.

No registration required.

My. Nick's Dino Crew will be on Saturday May 23rd at 1:00. At the Arlington Safe Room. 11842 Otto Lane, Arlington, TN 38002.

Local Author Storytime

Tuesday, May 26th at 10:30

at the Market Pavilion (12090 Forrest Street)

Join us for a special Summer Reading storytime on May 26th at the Market Pavilion. Author Becky Thomas will visit us again and share a community helper story about her rooster, Roscoe, and friends. We'll also have a special visit from our friends at the Arlington Fire Department!

No registration required.

Children's Programs

Preschool Storytime

Tuesdays at 10:30

Every Tuesday we enjoy stories, songs, counting, and dancing! We also sneak in lots of early literacy and social skill building. Come listen to stories and stay for playtime afterwards!

The program is designed to build early language & literacy foundations in toddlers and pre-school children ages 5 and under.

Storytime is on Tuesdays at 10:30.

Toddler Art Studio

2nd Thursdays at 10:30

May 14th : Chalk Day Outside

Bring your little one to the library for creative fun! On 2nd Thursdays, we'll do a different art project perfect for toddlers.

Toddler Art is every 2nd Tuesday at 10:30.

Preschool Playdate

Tuesday, May 12th at 10:30

May 12th's storytime will be a preschool playdate! Bring your little one to socialize with other storytime friends.

No registration required.

Builder's Club

Thursdays at 4:00

We're taking a break from STEM to have hour-long LEGO time! Test your LEGO skills and build with friends. Every week we will play a different LEGO game or do a build challenge!

Children under 5 must be supervised.

No registration required.

Builder's Club is a LEGO program for kids. On Thursdays at 4:00pm at the library.

Stuffie Sleepover

This month's drop off: Saturday, May 2nd

Pick up: Monday, May 4th (after 12:00)

Ever wonder what your stuffies do at night? Drop them off for a sleepover at the library and we'll see what they get up to. At pick up time, kids will get a photo booklet that shows what their stuffed animal did at the sleepover.

Registration is required. Sign up with a librarian.

Books & Barks

Every 4th Saturday

Sign up with a librarian.

Do you have a reluctant reader? Reading aloud to a therapy dog can boost confidence and they're the best audience! Sign up for one-on-one reading time with a library pup.

Dungeons and Dragons Club

Saturday, May 30th from 12:00-2:00

Join us for Dungeons & Dragons Club! The library will host a space for adventurers to play. For tweens, teens & adults. Every 4th Saturday from 12:00-2:00.

Adult Programs

Book Club

Wednesday, May 27th at 1:30

Ask a librarian about this month's pick.

This book chat is for all adult ages to share about our current book selection, what you're currently reading, or what you've read.

We encourage sharing all reviews and suggestions for other members of the group. Great way to reconnect, meet people, make new friends, and add great book ideas to your reading list.

Book club is the last Wednesday of every month at 1:30.

Grow with us! @ the community garden

Mondays from 9:30-10:30

Join us at the Arlington Community Garden (12121 Forrest St. Arlington) every Monday morning as we learn how to grow our own vegetables and herbs together!

All ages and skill levels welcome.

Master Gardener Classes

We're Starting a monthly class series with master gardeners! This month's topic is on herb gardens. We'll learn how to grow and use herbs in everyday cooking.

Family Art Day

1st - 3rd Saturdays in May

Come craft with the whole family! Every month we do a simple, imaginative craft that encourages fine motor skills, playful design, and a love of making things together. For all ages. On April 18th, we'll be making frog rings!

Chess Club

Every Monday from 4:00-6:00

Join all ages and skill levels for a game of strategy and problem solving. You're invited to learn and master the art of chess. No registration necessary. For all ages.

2nd Saturdays (all day)

Come pick up a Take and Make Craft Kit! Each month we put out two seasonal crafts you can take home for creative fun!
