Library Calendar of Events

We have special programs and events each month at the Library. Our monthly calendars help keep you informed (links in blue buttons to download). Check our new calendar each month OR check out our Library Facebook Page.

Programs occur Monday-Thursday, and on Saturdays. The Library is closed on Fridays & Sundays.

"Color Our World" 2025 Summer Reading Program

It’s that time again! Our 2025 Summer Reading Program theme is “Color Our World!” Help us celebrate the myriad of ways in which art enriches our lives. Our program is designed to inspire and engage readers of all ages. Visit us throughout the summer for the exciting programs we have planned. FOAM PARTIES, TIE DYE PARTIES, & MORE!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

For ages 0-5

It's never too early to start reading! Register your baby or toddler for the 1,000 Books Challenge on ReadSquared. This program is designed to help children read 1,000 books before they enter Kindergarten and encourage life-long reading habits. Once you've earned enough points, you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share!

LFA 10th Anniversary Book Sale Bash!

Saturday, May 17th from 10:00 to 3:00 pm

The Library Friends of Arlington will be having their 10th anniversary book sale at the library on May 17th! Come celebrate the library friends' 10th birthday and the great support they've provided to our library.

The LFA book sale is on May 17th.

Summer Reading Kick Off : Foam Party!

Saturday, May 31st from 1:00-3:00 pm (@ Forrest St. Park)

Kick-off the summer with us at Forrest St. Park! Bring your swimsuit to play in the bubbles and celebrate the beginning of our Summer Reading Program! For all ages.

The summer reading kick off foam party will be on may 31st at 1:00. Located at forrest st. park.

Borrowed Blockbusters: Family Movies

Saturday, May 10th from 3:00-5:00 pm

This month: Wicked

Bring a blanket and cozy up with library friends and popcorn for a fun movie night at the library! This month, we will be showing Wicked starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Library movie night is on may 10th from 3:00 to 5:00. For all ages.

Women's Self Defense Class

Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 (@ the safe room)

Join us for a hands-on self-defense seminar for women. Sensei Wendy from Mid-South Okinawan Karate will present a comprehensive 2-hour course on self-awareness and self-protection. Each participant will leave with a new perspective on self-defense concepts.

Registration is required.

Children's Programs

Preschool Storytime!

10:30 am on Tuesdays at the Library

LA HORA DE CUENTOS

Every Tuesday we enjoy stories, songs, counting, dancing, and a great way for parent interaction with your little one.

The program is designed to build early language & literacy foundations in toddlers and pre-school children ages 5 and under.

We also sneak in lots of early literacy and social skill building. See more for English here. and Spanish here.

Builder's Club!

Thursdays at 4:00 pm at the Library

Builder's Club is back! Join us on Thursdays for LEGO challenges and free-build time

Ages 5 and under must be supervised.

Chess Club Mondays!

Mondays from 5-6:30 pm

Join all ages & levels of experience for a game of strategy and problem solving. You're invited to learn and master the art of chess. No registration necessary.

* Students under 12 must be signed in and accompanied by parent or designated adult while in the library. We require the parent/responsible person to remain onsite throughout the program. There is seating available on the patio (weather permitting) or you may stay in your vehicle in the parking lot. Please see staff if another arrangement needs to be made.

S.T.E.M. Thursdays!

STEM 4:30 pm - on Thursdays

Your local library is the place that offers exploration and discovery: S.T.E.M.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math - with projects chosen to engage children. (ages 5+)

Free to all explorers recommended ages 5+. No registration required.

Homeschool Hangout

May 7th at 10:30 am: Plant Marker Making (at the library)

May 21st at 10:30 am: Seedling Planting w/ Miss Ginger (@ the Community Garden)

Are you a new homeschool parent? Are you looking to make connections to other homeschool groups? Do you want a place the kids can play and learn?

Join us to make connections with other homeschool families!

homeschool hangout will be on may 7th and may 21st. May 21st's program will be at the community garden. 10:30 am.

Pokémon Club

Now twice a month! May 6th and 20th at 4:00 pm

Wanna catch 'em all? Then come to Pokémon Club! Bring your cards to trade and hangout with fellow fans.

Books & Barks

May 31st from 10:30 to 12:00 pm (registration is required)

Do you have a reluctant reader? Reading aloud to a therapy dog can boost confidence and they're the best audience! Sign up for one-on-one reading time with a library pup.

Registration is required.

Books and Barks is every fourth Saturday. Sign up at the library.

Tween/Teen Programs

Book Club for Adults

1:30 pm - Last Wednesday each month.
No registration required

This book chat is for all adult ages to share about our current book selection, what you're currently reading, or what you've read.

We encourage sharing all reviews and suggestions for other members of the group. Great way to reconnect, meet people, make new friends, and add great book ideas to your reading list.

Adult Book Club is the last Wednesday of every month at 1:30.

Take & Make craft kits will be available, while supply lasts.

All instructions and supplies will be included and kits will be labeled for any additional glue, tape, etc. will be needed.
