
Our area is facing two rounds of freezing weather in the next week. On Sunday, January 5th, rain and gusty winds may be followed by a flash freeze overnight, as temps fall from the 50s down to the 20s. Then mid to late next week, bitter cold temperatures are possible.
Take steps now to ensure you're prepared when cold weather hits. Some tips & contact numbers are attached to help you protect your water pipes and respond in case of a burst pipe.

TRASH DELAY - The Wednesday Route truck that serves an area of downtown, Carters Cove, the Village of Arlington, and Dr Logan is down. Waste Pro will work to collect homes along this route by Saturday. The attached map shows the exact streets.

Happy New Year Arlington! ☝️ Town facilities will be closed & trash collection will not run Wednesday, January 1st in observance of New Years Day.
Town facilities will reopen on Thursday (2nd) and trash service will be pushed forward 1 day for the end of the week (Thurs-Sat).


SCHEDULE CHANGE - Town Hall will close at 2pm today to observe the holiday. Public Works and Parks will close at 1pm. All offices will return to their normal schedule on Thursday, Jan 2nd.

TRASH - There will be NO trash collection on December 25th & January 1st . Service will be pushed forward one day as a result, with the Wed. - Fri. routes picked up on Thurs - Sat instead.
TOWN FACILITIES - Town facilities will be closed from noon Dec 23rd to Dec 25th, and on January 1st. This also includes the Library and Senior Center.



The Arlington Fire Department participated in some mischief at Donelson Elementary School Monday with the school's Principal Elf. While things started with the fire truck in the morning, we hear the Elf got into a lot more shenanigans during the day - surely to the delight of the kids.



The Parade is still on today starting at 11am. Rain is likely, which is not ideal, but no severe weather is predicted. So grab your rain coats and ponchos, then come out to support all those who put so much hard work into their floats and displays!


Looking for a winter project for all ages? Then consider the Library's Bookmark Contest. It's open now. Entries must be submitted by January 6, 2025. A winner for each age category will be selected and the winning bookmarks will be added to the Library's collection for all patrons to use.

Get Ready!! Arlington's Winter Wonderland Parade will be rolling down Airline Road next Saturday starting at 11:00am! The parade route runs north from Arlington High School to the traffic signal at Memphis-Arlington Road.
The weather man says to expect warmer temps with a possibility of rain. Generally speaking, the Parade will go on RAIN OR SHINE , so bring your Umbrellas! However - Town staff will continue to monitor the forecast for any threat of more hazardous conditions.


Tonight's the night! 🎀 Head down to Christmas on the Square from 5-8pm tonight.
❄️Temps are low, but the kids are going to want to visit all the holiday stations, so be sure to bundle up before coming out.



PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE - The Town of Arlington Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA) will hold a Public Hearing and Second & Final reading on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Town Hall (5854 Airline Road, Arlington, TN) at 6:30 PM for the following: Ordinance 2024-14 to amend the Town of Arlington, TN Budget for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2025.


Santa is at The Crossing and meeting with the kids! He'll be there until 7pm, so make sure you bundle up and stop by to see him.


Don't believe all those grinches out there - Santa isn't afraid of the cold. He'll be out Thursday & Friday night in Depot Square.
But it will be cold - so be sure to bundle up well. And maybe drop by the hot chocolate vendors when you see them. But don't let it stop you from coming out Thursday to see Santa at The Crossing, or joining us for Christmas on the Square Friday night!

Hope your Friday night is free, because you're going to want to be at Christmas on the Square. From 5-8pm, Depot Square will be transformed into a winter wonderland with plenty of holiday activities.
This is a fun, family event geared to be magical for children at Christmas. It will also include a Christmas Market with local crafted goods and gifts, and food trucks with plenty of goodies.
