SEVERE WEATHER - Arlington is under severe weather threat today, so stay weather aware. Six outdoor warning sirens in Town are operated by the Shelby County Office of Preparedness and will sound when a Tornado Warning has been issued for anywhere in Shelby County. In the case of a Tornado Warning - Arlington's Tornado Safe Room is located at 11842 Otto Lane (next to Arlington Elementary). The room remains locked until a Tornado Warning is issued, then designated Town staff members will open the facility.

STREET SWEEPING - holidays are over and it's time to clean! Town street sweeping will start next Monday, the 8th (weather permitting). It usually takes around 5-7 days. As always, major intersections and Town parking lots will be swept at night to avoid traffic and park event interruptions. Please DO NOT PARK on the street during this time unless you know it has already been swept.

A couple Schedule Changes for the upcoming weeks to keep in mind: 1) Town facilities will be closed Monday (25th) & Tuesday (26th) in observance of the Christmas holiday, and also on Monday, Jan 1st in observance of the New Year's holiday. 2) Trash collection will not run on the 25th or Jan 1st, so all service for the next two weeks will be shifted forward one day (Tues-Sat).

The parade will run down Airline Road from AHS to the traffic light at Mem-Arlington Rd/Douglass St, so find your chairs and start thinking about your perfect viewing spots now.
