🌞Things to Remember Next Week in Arlington
1. Take the trash out EARLY. Trucks will start early to beat the sun. Putting your bin out the night before is not just allowed — it’s heroic.
2. Keep cars off the street! Street sweeping starts Monday. Don't be that neighbor.
3. It’s HOT. So hydrate. Or become a raisin. Your call.
4. Have a good attitude. Or at least wear sunglasses and pretend.
5. Try not to cook anything that requires turning on the oven. Your A/C deserves better.
6. Give your dog an extra pat. They’re doing their best, even when they bark at the trash truck.

A claw truck broke down Monday and put pickups a day behind. Then, a trash truck went down yesterday, causing further delays. Crews are working hard to catch up, bringing in additional trucks and staff to help.
👉 Place bins and yard waste at the curb on your normal pickup day and leave them out until collected. WastePro expects to be caught up by Friday, but will run additional routes on Saturday if needed to ensure all homes are serviced.
Thanks for your understanding as they work through the disruptions!

✅ What's getting cleaned?
• All public curbed streets during the day
• Major intersections + Town parking lots at night (to avoid traffic disruption)
✅ How long will it take?
About 5–7 days to cover the entire Town.
🚫 Heads up: Don't park on the street until your area has been swept. If it’s already clean, you're good to go!
Let’s work together to keep storm drains clear, roads tidy, and Arlington beautiful. Thanks for doing your part!

🌞🔥 Arlington, it's a scorcher out there! 🔥🌞 We’re under an **extreme heat warning** today – and it’s no joke. Feels like Mother Nature cranked the thermostat up to “Melt Your Face Off”!
Here’s how to **keep your cool** today:
- Hydrate like it's your full-time job
- Stay in the shade (or better yet, the A/C)
- Don’t forget your pets – they feel it too!
- NEVER leave kids or pets in the car (even for a minute!)
- Check on elderly neighbors – a quick call goes a long way
Let’s take care of each other, Arlington! Stay safe, stay cool, and maybe save the yard work for later😎

🚧 Big News, Arlington! 🚧 The wheels are in motion on a long-anticipated project — and it’s going to make a big difference in how we move around the south side of town!
Construction is set to begin in early August on the extension of Donelson Farms Pkwy from Donelson Elementary to State Route 385. This ¾-mile stretch will create a direct connection between Airline Road and SR 385 — a short distance with a big impact on access and traffic flow in the area.
This is a $7 million road project, with 80% funded by federal dollars through TDOT — a smart investment in Arlington’s infrastructure with big benefits for our community.
We’re working closely with the contractor to minimize disruption. Work will start on the west end near SR 385, away from Donelson Elementary, and crews will be mindful of school, church, and neighborhood access throughout the project.
This long-awaited extension is a big step toward better connectivity — stay tuned for updates as progress rolls forward!

🛠️ Aerial Update: Town Hall Expansion! If you’ve driven past Arlington Town Hall lately, you’ve no-doubt noticed the big changes underway — and now you can see the progress from above!
Construction is moving right along on the Town Hall expansion, a project that will double the office space in the building to better serve our growing community and its needs.
Originally dedicated in 1980, Town Hall was built when our population was just 1,778 people. Since then, the building has only seen small modifications — until now. With Arlington’s continued growth, this expansion will ensure we have the room, resources, and staff support to keep delivering the services our residents count on.
Work is expected to wrap up this fall, and we’ll share more updates (and views from above!) along the way. Stay tuned!
